Fish Head Curry....

Fish head curry has been one of my favorite dish for many years...I am constantly searching for a good fish head curry wherever I go. Recently I found a kopitiam somewhere in Island Park that served a lipsmacking good fish head curry. The curry is thick and very tasty and fresh fish head is always being used...very important when it comes to curry. The kopitiam is called Good Corner and the stall is located at the end of the kopitiam. It is situated opposite Japanese Garden in Island Park.

This fish head curry is on top of my list at this moment...give it try, I am pretty sure you will like it.

A large bowl of Fish Head Curry for 2 is at RM18 to RM 20...they have other dishes too if you want some side dishes to go with your rice. The kangkung belacan is worth trying.

Niamah!!!: Ipoh chee cheong fun: "The first thing I heard as I stepped out of my car in front of the legendary Kedai Makanan Canning Garden was this resonant voice projected..."

Ayam Masak Kicap Madu

Finally found the best Ayam Masak Kicap Madu in town...
I have been scouting around for the best Ayam Kicap for a while and sometime last month I found the perfect one (for me anyway...you don't have to agree).  The Ayam Kicap Madu served here is tender, sweet and full of flavour...simply lipsmacking, tonguewagging and salivadrooling good!  Hey mamak!! I will be back for more....if my cholesterol level permits it. :)

Venue:  Restoran Nasi Kandar Makbool in Bayan Baru.

Mee Rebus Ramli @ Ipoh, Perak....

Mee Rebus Ramli in Ipoh... the best in Ipoh as claimed by the locals.  I found it pretty good, the broth was very tasty and thick unlike the mamak version here in Penang which can be a bit diluted or watery.  Certainly worth trying if you are in Ipoh.

Fish and Chips at Hotel Penaga, Penang...

Price: RM 25.00 ++ per person (3-course Set Lunch)
Available during weekdays only.
Venue: Cinnamon Restaurant

Cream of Leek Soup
English Battered Fish and Chips
Fresh Fruits
Coffee/Tea

Main course was pretty ordinary and the presentation was pretty good. Soup was average.  The coffee house is beautifully set-up with a hint of English influence which overlooked a lap pool and a beautiful landscaped garden.

Give it a try before the promotion ends.

A simple "Maggi Mee Goreng" at its best....

Now who don't know Maggi Mee in Malaysia....it is probably the best known brand of instant noodle here.  Maggi Mee has been our staple food for many many years and yet we don't actually get bored with it.  It's quick, easy to cook and cheap and yes easily available too.
Almost all mamak shops in Penang sell Maggi Mee Goreng but there is just one particular shop located at Jalan Khoo Sian Ewe called Restoran Yunus Khan that served the most outstanding Maggi Mee Goreng I have ever tasted.  The mee is pretty simple and not much presentation to drool over (as shown in the picture) but the taste is simply out of this world.  It is just amazing such a simple dish can be so good.  I always order a double (2 packets la, 1 where got enough) with a fried egg and some diced chicken on top.  Some diners said the Maggi Tomyam Goreng is very good too but I have never try one before simply because I don't fancy Tomyam.

The place is well known for its night crowd....Some refer this place as "Bird Shit Maggi Goreng" and some called it "Jiao Sai Maggi Goreng".  Reason is because it is located near a few huge trees that crows have made their home.  Its pretty noisy in the evening when these birds fly back to rest and you can expect a lot of birds' droppings during that time.

But don't let these disgusting names and condition deter you for patronizing this place because like the title says, this is where you can find a simple Maggi Goreng at its best...

(Warning : The above article may not be totally true due to the fact that the writer has been a Maggi Mee Goreng addict for many many years.....)

And I don't work for Maggi ok!....
